Schedules 2 details
BHA hosts a monthly "Historical Happy Hour" after-hours at its museums, with the theme and drink selections announced on its Facebook page rather than on the website itself.
Historic walking tours are offered seasonally, in the fall and winter months, led by University of Texas Rio Grande Valley professors and other trained guides rather than run year-round.
Policies 2 details
All five BHA event venues allow private outside catering and private liquor service (i.e. you can bring your own caterer and alcohol rather than being locked into an in-house vendor), and all five are marked as having handicap/ADA facilities; none of them post a rental price online, so pricing is by phone or email quote only.
Members at the Heritage tier and above get a 10% discount on renting BHA's event venues, and Lifetime and Corporate members get a private viewing/reception before events (Lifetime members also get an exclusive annual tour with a private dinner).
Prices 2 details
Admission to the Brownsville Heritage Museum (which includes the Stillman House Museum) is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students, and free for children under 6, BHA members, BISD students and teachers, and military.
Annual membership runs 12 months from the payment date and is sold in eight tiers, from a $15 Student rate up to a $3,000 per-person Lifetime membership (which includes a guest); all tiers include year-round free museum admission and a 10% gift-shop discount, and can be paid by credit card over the phone.
Capacity 1 detail
For weddings and private events, BHA rents five historic venues with published capacities: the Historic Alonso Building and Market Square Event Hall each hold 200, the Mary A. Yturria Education Center holds 125, Stillman House Gardens holds 100, and the Laureles Ranch House Museum holds 200 but is outdoor seating only.
