Look at the waterline and recent local reports rather than assuming every beach is the same. Separate a marine-life warning from surf or rip-current conditions; both can matter at once.

Concentrations can appear and disappear quickly, and detached or stranded tentacles may still sting. Bare feet, pets and curious children need a wider buffer.
