What to compare
Look at surf height, wind direction and speed, weather, thunderstorm potential, temperature and any headline. A small wave number does not cancel the separate rip-current risk or hazards near jetties.
What changes
Wind shifts, distant swell and thunderstorms can change the surf after an early forecast. Forecasts are updated when conditions warrant, while beach flags reflect local decisions made closer to the sand.
