Find a stretch of beach with room to cast
The Gulf beach is a fishing spot and a shared place for swimming and recreation. Look at the first trough, outer bar, current seams, and clean water, but keep hooks, lines, vehicles, and bait well away from swimmers and nesting areas. Waves reshape the bars and cuts, so yesterday's productive spot may look different today.
Keep your setup easy to move
Surf height, rip risk, weed, current, lightning, and crowds can all change during a session. Choose a legal access, read the beach flags, and spread out only as much gear as you can pack quickly. If someone enters your casting lane, move or stop casting.
