Summer gives you plenty of warm-water options, from the surf and bay to guided and offshore trips. The tradeoff is heat, strong sun, busy access points, and thunderstorms that can build quickly. Think about shade, drinking water, travel time, and how you'll chill a kept fish before you choose the outing.
Know when you're done
Pick a heat and weather stopping point before you cast. Tropical weather, the sea breeze, lightning, harmful algae, and high overnight temperatures can make yesterday's plan a poor one today. Bring more water than you think you'll need, and don't stretch the session when the group is getting too hot.
