- Official name: Cameron County Beach Access No. 3 ("Public Beach Access #3" in the 2018 master plan).
- Jurisdiction / operator: Cameron County.
- Location: 0.3 miles (ERP: "approximately a quarter-mile") north of Andy Bowie Park on Park Road 100, "north of the city limits" per the county's ERP; KRGV gives the street address as 28495 State Park Road 100-North (MEDIUM).
- How to reach it / Parking: paved lot; about 142–143 parking spaces before the rebuild (county figures); pedestrian dune walkover to the beach. 4.9 acres.
- Fees / seasonality: beach user fee in season; free "immediately after Labor Day through the last day of February".
- Amenities (pre-construction): dune walkover, portable restrooms, seasonal lifeguards/Beach Patrol, police surveillance; the plan promised restrooms, rinse stations and covered pavilions "in the future".
- Construction status: ground was broken 2025-08-11 on a SpaceX-funded ($4.4 million, plus GLO money) rebuild — an elevated plaza with two pavilions, picnic tables, restrooms, ADA parking and permeable parking — with the access closed "until mid-summer 2026" (KRGV, MEDIUM; the county's own notice now returns 404). A reopening announcement is not published by Cameron County as of 2026-09-02: the county site's own search returns no such post, and the March 2026 closure/reopening notices list only Accesses 4, 5 and 6. Treat No. 3 as status-unknown.
- Vehicles on sand: No. Camping: No (pedestrian access).
- Cross-reference: the city's Beach Access Parking Guide (Map 23) draws 123 county-contributed spaces "at Beach Access 3 in Andie Bowie Park" by "Andy Bowie Exit No 2" and states the lot is "within county boundaries" but ~1,000 ft from "the southern boundary of the City beach" to its north.
